Join us at the Darwin Entertainment Centre on Saturday, 1 October 2022, TROPiCON for a fresh and exciting addition to the Territory events calendar, and celebrate all things geek and pop culture.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Simply purchase a ticket to TROPiCON to be eligible to enter in this Cosplay Competition.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register online to ensure their place is secured for the competition.

Pre-registrations will be open from 1 September 2022 and will close 24 September, 2022.
Registering on the day
Limited spaces will be available to register on the day at the Cosplay Check-In Desk. Participants are strongly encouraged to pre-register before the event.
Participants choosing to register on the day, acknowledge that there are limited spaces and need to register at the Cosplay Check-In Desk before 11am.
Any registrations after 11am will not be accepted.

What to do when you arrive at TROPiCON
Competition (You must be registered for this)
Cosplay Competition Check-In from 10am until 11am, registered participants can collect their judging number from the Cosplay Check-In Desk. Please keep it with you until the conclusion of the judging.
Make your way to the judging area in (location TBC, most likely near the cosplay corner or near entry to the Studio). Judges will review your entry before you make an appearance on the Stage.
Important Times on the Day
10am to 11am – Pre-registration Check-In and On the Day Registrations are open. Judging begins.
12pm to 12:30pm – Cosplay Parade in the Studio.
2pm to 2:45pm – Cosplay Finalist Announcements and Prizes Award in the Playhouse.
Costumes can be purchased or hired; however, points will be allocated for the following:
Terms & Conditions of Entry
Participants/ Contestants are eligible to enter and win one category only.
Participants must be registered to be eligible for prize money. Any registration after 11am on the day will not be accepted.
Participants/ Contestants must meet the criteria of the Judging Areas to enter.
Prize money will be posted by bank deposit to the name and address listed on the registration form.
General Code of Conduct
TROPiCON is a family friendly, all ages event – no nudity is permitted. To avoid any disappointment, please ensure your costume attire is appropriate for a General (G) audience.
For your safety, footwear must always be worn.
No mock or play fighting is permitted outside of pre-designated performance spaces.
Please be considerate of other attendees when posing for photos and take care not to obstruct pathways and entrances.
Kindly seek permission of fellow attendees, before you take any photos of them.
Weapons & Props Guide
All weapons and props must be presented to TROPiCON staff or security on entry for inspection.
If a weapon or prop is judged to be potentially harmful/ dangerous for general use around the event, it must be removed from the event immediately. Staff & security reserve the right to re-access them at any point during the event.
No real firearms or replica firearms which could be easily confused with the real thing are permitted.
When travelling to and from TROPiCON, if carrying props which may cause alarm to members of the general public, please consider covering them during your journey.
Empty water guns/ nerf guns without ammunition are allowed, no use of projectile weaponry is permitted.
Skates, rollerblades, skateboards or similar moving items will not be allowed into the venue.

This year’s prize money is sponsored by Good Dog, a local NT business who provide animal-assisted services using Therapy Dogs in the community.

Good Dog Rising Star - $250
OPENS - All Ages
First (1st) Place - $1000
Runner Up (2nd) - $500
Runner Up (3rd) - $250
Additional communication, if needed, will be conducted via email and through public notifications released on the website or through social media.
Participants/ Competitors are permitted to withdraw from the competition subject to notifying either the Promoter before the event or Staff on the day.
Cancellations or Rescheduling
This competition or part of it may be cancelled or rescheduled for any reason. The promoter and staff will endeavour to provide participants/ competitors with a minimum of 12 hours’ notice in case of cancellation or rescheduling.
